I wanted to start a list of recommended books.  What books does everyone like for:

  • Getting Started with E-Learning
  • Instructional Design
  • Evaluation
  • Storyboarding
  • Adobe Flash
  • Rapid E-Learning Development
  • ???? (it's late make up your own categories..that should be enough to get y'all started)

I like Telling ain't Training and Training ain't Performance by Harold Stolovitch.  Also like Training for Dummies by Elaine Biech.

Anything by Michael Allen

Vol 1 Creating Successful E-Learning, Vol 2  Designing Successful e-Learning, Guide to E-Learning, 2008 e-Learning Annual

An interesting book to read is Transforming e-Knowledge: A Revolution in the Sharing of Knowledge by Norris, Mason, Lefrere. I have a 2003 edition, and it give a good overview on things to think about - sort of like a series of white papers.
