I use the Creative Commons search feature at http://search.creativecommons.org/. I like being able to filter the results for different uses, like content available for commercial purposes or for modification/adaptation. It searches Google, Google Images, flickr, and pulls video, music, and other media from Wikimedia Commons, blip.tv, jamendo, and SpinXpress.

Hi,
Some of the top sites I have my students use are: http://www.sxc.hu/home and http://www.morguefile.com/. For the stock exchange you do need to sign up but they don't send you junk and it is a one time thing.
