One example is CalypsoAI, which provides a tool that audits AI interaction, and another is Arthur AI, with a product that acts as a firewall for AI content. Meanwhile, companies with the necessary resources are exploring collaborations with AI creators to establish safer, private IT environments.

The investment in this area is expected to skyrocket, dwarfing last year’s $4.5 billion figure. Nvidia has also joined the race, launching NeMo Guardrails to help developers set usage limits on large-language models. Despite the growing safeguards, the decision to use AI ultimately boils down to the organization’s risk tolerance, underscoring the chief information officer’s role in guiding these strategic choices.
